Mission Statement

The mission of Santa Clara Adult Education is to empower adults of all ages and abilities to succeed in an ever-changing world

Message from the Directors
Summer 2016
Dear Community Members,
In 2009 Rochelle Kelly and Kathy Martarano became the Directors of Educational Options, which includes Santa Clara Adult Education, Wilson High School and Family Child Education Services. After spending 44 years in the Santa Clara Unified School District, as a student, teacher and administrator, Rochelle Kelly will be retiring in June.
The staff of Educational Options would like to pay tribute to her for her years of dedicated service to the district and to the students of this community. Rochelle began her career in the district as a French and English teacher at Wilcox High School in 1976. She began her service at Educational Options in 1984 as a teacher in the Adult High School Diploma Program. As an administrator, Rochelle was instrumental in the establishment of Wilson High School in 1995, and the Young Parent Center for pregnant and parenting teens. Under her leadership, Wilson has become a second chance for students to complete their high school education and transition successfully to college or a career.
During her tenure, Rochelle has overseen the establishment and day-to-day success of many programs including: English as a Second Language, Career Technical Education, Students with Different Abilities, Parent Education, The Credit Recover Program, Preschool and After School Services and the Alternative Placement Center. She has successfully guided six accreditation processes, all receiving the maximum of 6 years. Rochelle has been a consummate leader, dedicated to the staff and the students of this community. We will miss you, Rochelle, and we will be forever grateful to you for helping us make a difference in the lives of students, by leading with your heart.
